2026 EUROPE TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIPS

Information

01

Tarragona is the capital city of the Tarragona province, in southeastern Catalonia; about 100 kilometres south from Barcelona. For all events, the main venue of the 2026 Europe Triathlon Championships Tarragona will be the Port of Tarragona.

02

Tarragona is the only Catalan city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on three occasions: for its Roman legacy, its castells (human towers), and its Mediterranean gastronomy.

03

The city is attractive due to its history, cultural activities and sports events. The castells and major festivals attract citizens and tourists alike, and Tarragona has been recognised as one of the 50 best places to visit by The New York Times.

04

Open to the Mediterranean, our city is a well-established natural destination, with 15 km of coastline at Tamarit, giving rise to beaches of fine golden sand and crystal-clear water. Its paths, beaches and green spaces create an ideal environment in which to enjoy a dream day with the family.

05

Visit Tarragona 365 days a year and discover the Roman Amphitheatre and the Ferreras Aqueduct, both declared World Heritage Sites in 2000. Discover the heart of Tarragona while shopping at the Central Market or the Mercadet de Bonavista, the largest outdoor market in the city. Immerse yourself in our popular culture: taste romesco sauce, rice à la marinière, and Tarragona DO wine.
